It’s Ruth Chao’s birthday and she’ll feast if she wants to. The creative director and graphic artist behind the eponymous design studio rang in her birthday at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental hotel alongside her closest gal pals on June 10. “Before the pandemic kicked in, the original plan was for me to be in Tokyo for my birthday, but this celebration was, in many ways, even more special. I have an amazing group of women who truly support one another and I am blessed to have them in my life,” says Chao.
