Camouflage—seen just as often on boot camp fitness instructors and overzealous corporate types enjoying paintballing awaydays as in actual mortal combat—was firmly revisited and re-envisioned for SS17. Vetements, Public School, Opening Ceremony and Off-White have all been long-standing streetwear pioneers of the print on caps, tees and tracksuits. However, this season camo has been camped up rather wonderfully and served in a delightful array of colours and luxe fabrics. Bottega Veneta rendered the print in geometric, blocky prints, while Cerruti adapted it with painterly splashes and Dries Van Noten collaged camouflage with patchwork. At Valentino, camo print was reduced from its usual five layers of colour to three.
