The debut collection of Ferragamo creative director Maximilian Davis ushers the heritage luxury house down a daring new path

Ferragamo’s spring-summer 2023 collection marks a new dawn, with the debut of freshly appointed creative director Maximilian Davis. Speaking to a younger, edgier audience, the 27-year-old emerging talent revs up Ferragamo’s historical codes through a contemporary lens. Part of that reworking includes a brand new logo for the house, featuring the deep, bold, emotive Ferragamo red. But most important to the brand’s reawakening is Davis’s masterful new take on ready-to-wear. Davis’s directional debut is an ode to the young, ambitious Salvatore Ferragamo who took over the Hollywood Boot Shop in 1923. “I wanted to pay tribute to Salvatore’s start by bringing in the culture of Hollywood—but new Hollywood,” explains the British-born designer.
