The latest pieces from Austy Lee look to volcanic eruptions for inspiration

Though he has had more than a decade’s experience in the field, Austy Lee is a relatively new name in the world of jewellery, having launched his eponymous brand in 2017. Unsurprisingly, Lee’s approach tends towards the fresh and modern, taking cues from pop-culture touchstones such as punk rock and science fiction. The inspiration for his latest collection, however, is anything but contemporary: they’re drawn from some of the oldest elements on Earth. In creating the Hypnotic Magma Ring—an entrancing multicoloured piece that is available in two enamelled and gem-embellished iterations—the designer looked to the primordial state of our planet, long before even the most primitive form of life existed.
