The Women of Hope Awards honour some of the city’s most influential women

Since the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation established its Women of Hope Awards in 2014, its annual presentation lunch has grown into an event drawing more than 400 guests and raising ever larger amounts of money—in excess of HK$5.3 million last year. Here’s how it works. Influential women who champion social justice for women, children and the community are nominated for the awards. Members of the public can cast their votes online. The eight winners are then honoured at the lunch, which will be held at the JW Marriott Hotel on May 17. Among the 33 women nominated for awards this year are Pearl Shek (pictured) and Christina Gaw.
