Freezer French Toast I keep a freezer full of these slices and simply pop them into the oven for a homemade breakfast in no time. My family prefers this recipe over store-bought frozen French toast. —Diane Perry, Castro Valley, CA Prep: 10 min. + freezing Bake: 20 min. • Makes: 5 servings 4 large eggs1 cup 2% milk2 Tbsp. sugar1 tsp. vanilla extract¼ tsp. ground nutmeg10 slices day-old French bread (¾ in. thick)1 to 2 Tbsp. butter Optional: Mixed fresh berries and confectioners’ sugar TO PREP AHEAD: In a large bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Place bread in a well-greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Pour egg mixture over bread. Let soak several minutes, turning once to coat. Freeze until firm.
