It started with a bed. Well, not the bed exactly, but the feeling of someone sitting on the edge of it. This slight tilt of the mattress happened in the middle of the night as I lay on my four-poster, in a turret of a castle nestled in the midd le of almost 35 acres of neat rows of vines. But more than that — it was a presence in the bedroom as I lay there, sheets under my chin, reminding myself that I didn’t believe in ghosts. And I didn’t… until then.
