As I read the email from my landlord, my heart sank. My tenancy was coming to an end which meant I’d soon have to move house again. Aged 50, I desperately wanted to have my own home. But although I had a good job as a therapist, I had no savings. And being accepted for a mortgage with my salary alone was a challenge. I needed a miracle to happen! I did have something on my side though — magic. I’d been interested in witchcraft since I was a child. Growing up I’d had an imaginary friend called Mrs Grimble, who was a 4ft tall witch.
