Andrew Peters did not like being blackmailed, but his guilt and fear of being outed pushed him to continue making payments. I can see no connection with him and Starr’s death, though I have no doubt he was relieved when he heard of her demise.
Starr had a very sad and traumatised life. She was severely depressed and suicidal. She spent her days drinking, taking drugs and having casual encounters with men. She had lost all her dignity.
The night before she died, Starr had taken a lot of barbiturates while attending the ship parties. She was also very drunk and the combination made her incredibly drowsy. However, I can’t see her falling overboard. I do not feel a sense of her floating in water or trying to swim.
