My childhood home had an uninvited guest, and they definitely weren't friendly.

It was getting late. ‘Come on, time for bed,’ said my mother. I sighed. I was too old to be afraid of the dark, but I hated climbing the stairs to my childhood bedroom in the attic. Why? Because I often felt the presence of a ghost. We lived in an Edwardian house in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and I was convinced the house was haunted. I often sensed the presence, just watching, and it made my whole body tingle with fear. But I didn’t just feel the ghost — I saw the spirit too!
