Lying on the bathroom floor at home, I felt like I was dying. I was only 20 years old and I was convinced I was having a heart attack. I could see angels coming for me. It turned out I wasn't having a heart attack – I was hallucinating and having a panic attack. It was something a lot of people have, but in that moment it was truly terrifying. The experience gave me a profound fear of death for a long time afterwards. I spent the next year convinced that I was going to die. It was a debilitating thing.
