Although the notorious serial killer Ed Gein was in the area when Evelyn went missing and had a history of abducting lone young women, I don't think she was taken by him. Gein planned his abductions meticulously and the area would have been far too busy for his liking.
I don't feel that Evelyn had a secret boyfriend either. I feel that she was happy as a student and not really interested in boys. Her energy certainly doesn't reflect inviting a secret boyfriend into the house while she was babysitting. The scene also doesn't reflect a boyfriend type scenario because there was clearly violence.
However, Clyde Peterson and Jack Gaulphair were together that night, mingling among the crowds attending the football match.
