Start by asking your colleagues if they’ve experienced anything unusual or unexplained.
Researching the history of the building and the site it’s built on often gives you insights. There are phone apps available to download which show you what was on a site in years gone by. And if you or your colleagues repeatedly hear a name being called, find out if someone of that name has ever been associated with the site in the past.
Keep a diary. Log your experiences, including a note of date and times, to see if you can spot any patterns. The same thing happening at the same time each day may indicate residual paranormal activity.
