But Cary wasn’t just anxious about stepping out in front of a glittering assembly of his peers. There was something else playing on his mind. Would a woman stride on stage and hand him a subpoena? The woman Cary Grant feared would turn up was Cynthia Bouron. The previous year, she’d announced to the press that she was pregnant with Cary’s child.
