Ghost dogs Like Dartmoor's legends of demon dogs, folktales of hellhounds are told all over the country. Each region has its own name for the supernatural beasts, such as Black Shuck in Lincolnshire, Essex and East Anglia; Barghest in Yorkshire; and Striker in Lancashire.
