Hi Take 5ers, My husband and I have recently been invited to a childhood friend’s daughter’s wedding. While initially, I was thrilled to receive the invite, I was shocked to read we were expected to fork out $100 each to cover the costs of our meals and that we would need to pay this when we digitally RSVP’d. We’re also expected to make a cash contribution to the couple instead of a gift to fund their honeymoon. I want to decline on principle but know doing so would likely end the friendship. What should I do?
