SAVAGE’S MSR IN 6.5 CREEDMOOR IS A HOG’S WORST NIGHTMARE COME TRUE

It was the coolest of times, it was the warmest of times. It was the season of light, it was the season of darkness. It was the despair of an empty freezer, it was happiness of a freezer well stocked. This is a fair description of my early spring pursuits of feral hogs with Savage’s new modern sporting rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Savage’s penchant for building accurate, affordable rifles is well known when it comes to bolt guns, but the company’s rather recent foray into modern sporting rifles (aka AR-type rifles) has been interesting.
