AMMO COMPONENTS TO HAVE SERIAL NUMBERS
→ In response to increased violent crime on the streets of several large U.S. cities, anti-gun lawmakers in Congress are calling for ballistic fingerprinting of ammunition components.
If passed, the measure would require not only that each projectile and bullet casing be marked with a unique matching serial number, but primers and each grain of powder would be required to carry that same number somewhere on their surface.
“This is a reasonable, logical response that will undoubtedly result in fewer mass shootings,” said U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. “Don’t believe the lies from the ammo companies that this will somehow put a financial burden on them. They, just like the gun companies, care more about money than school children.”
