Seeking to build a rifle with top components in the sport, I chose a Bighorn action and PROOF Research barrel mounted in an XLR Envy Heavy Chassis. The Bighorn TL3 action provides a smooth and light bolt lift, which helps to stay on target during follow-up shots. Its replaceable bolt head offers easy barrel swaps and caliber changes, and because the rail is pinned, it can be easily swapped for rails with different MOA cants. I chose a steel PROOF Research barrel for accuracy and consistency. I opted for a 1-in-7 twist, stainless barrel with an M24 profile for the added weight to increase recoil control.
