Part of the “magic” of moviemaking is convincing the viewers that what they are seeing on the screen is believable. Thanks to computer-generated imagery (CGI), monsters can come alive, buildings can be created digitally, and even explosions and mass destruction can be inserted while keeping the actors safe. However, one aspect of filmmaking hasn’t changed much, and that is how firearms are used in movies and TV shows. There are specialists whose jobs require them to provide the productions with the firearms and, more importantly, to ensure that the cast and crew are, in fact, safe from real danger.
