Make a point of thoroughly inspecting your kit at least twice a year. The time changes for daylight savings are a great reminder. Imagine an almost endless supply of fuel in any wilderness setting: twigs, pinecones, dry leaves, dry grasses, larger sticks, dry mosses and even paper. Much of what can be described as small or combustible, within reason, could potentially be fuel, which would run the very utilitarian device often called a hobo stove. Known by many other names, such as twig stoves and bio-stoves, these devices are made by a plethora of companies, but the business started out as more of a cottage industry.
