Soli Bailey’s new edit, Conehead has just premiered in a large surf shop on the Gold Coast. Pizzas have been demolished; beers drunk. A large crew of Soli’s old Byron High mates are holding down a corner. As the cheers and whoops die down from the film’s cinematic, slo-mo denouement, Bob Bain takes the stage for a few words-from-our-sponsor and to do the raffle draw.
“Wow,” he says, peering into the crowd against the bright lights. “Soli, that was great… wherever you are.” Soli, kilowatt smile…
