Ellis Ericson

The last time we caught up with Ellis Ericson, he was living in a farmhouse at Talofa – between Byron and Bangalow – with a rolling stable of house/bandmates including Beau Foster and Creed McTaggart. He’d just gone out on his own, shaping modern interpretations of classic ‘70s and ‘80s designs out the back of the house. In the years since, Ellis has gone down the rabbit hole with design ideas, most notably George Greenough’s edge board. In a sign of the times, the Talofa farmhouse is now a flash multi-million-dollar hinterland property, and Ellis has moved south to a stretch of coast where he’s got some land, built a shaping shed and a garden, and spends his days working on cutting edge craft.
