RESILIENCE! It is a word local runners know very well. Without it, you are doomed to failure in the pursuit of personal glory in that tough undertaking that is called the marathon.
And this month in particular, the majority of runners are working hard at building this “ingredient” crucial to their success in that race of races – the Comrades Marathon.
Traditionally, this Easter weekend would have seen runners converging on the Mother City to test their Comrades readiness at the 56km Two Oceans Marathon.
But the race – fondly referred to as the world’s most beautiful marathon – has since been shifted from its traditional date and will only be taking place next weekend.
