Wazi Kunene’s comedy accolade

A week after being crowned the 2023 Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Award Newcomer, Wazi M Kunene is still in awe of her new title. The awards were held at The Galleria in Sandton on April 15, with comedians, celebrities, influencers and comedy-loving fans going all out to dress for the “Birthday Black Tie” theme. Kunene said she was confident from day one that she would walk away with the award this year because she had worked extra hard to achieve this goal. Kunene explained that it was a case of either “go big or go home”, and she chose the former. No wonder then she deems winning the award one of her proudest career moments.
