In one email, dated March 29, 2023, the minister reminded his deputy that he told him that “all activities in your office will be routed to me via submissions for prior approval, particularly events and other outreach activities”.
“All requests to our entities to support any of your work must be communicated on time via my office and for my approval,” the minister wrote.
Responding to Nzimande’s email, on April 14, 2023, Manamela told the minister that President Ramaphosa had appointed him, and “there have been several unfortunate developments which I believe hamper my work as deputy minister”.
