Selbstanalyse bis ins letzte Detail bringt uns auf Dauer nicht weiter – meint die Psychotherapeutin Gitta Jacob

Frau Jacob, in Ihrem neuen Buch „Leben geht nur vorwärts“ plädieren Sie dafür, nicht so viel die eigene Vergangenheit zu betrachten und stattdessen mehr nach vorn zu blicken. Was ist falsch an der Auseinandersetzung mit früher? Daran ist gar nichts falsch. Der Blick zurück gehört zum Leben immer dazu, auch in der Psychotherapie. Wo kommen bestimmte Gefühle her? Welche Verhaltensmuster kann ich erkennen, und worin haben sie ihre Ursache? Solche Fragen sind wichtig. Ich habe nur den Eindruck, dass wir da gerade mitunter übertreiben: In unserer Gesellschaft wird sehr viel psychologisiert – und viele Menschen beschäftigen sich stark mit sich selbst.
