The reign of King George VI was quite prolific when it came to stamps, with low-value definitives, two sets of high values, changed colours and several commemorative sets, with those issued after World War II helping the coffers. However, there might have been more… ENTENTE CORDIALE Following France and Great Britain declaring war on Germany, there existed a great deal of co-operation between the two nations, leading to a suggestion from Fernand Griffon of Brittany that there might be a joint stamp issue. The idea initially received little enthusiasm from the two postal authorities. However, various letters from Griffon advocating his idea led to greater awareness and greater public support from both sides of the Channel.
