The slug and the snail Faced off in a raceTo see who could creepAt the slowest pace. As they crawled along,The slug stopped to eat.The snail also pausedTo savor a treat. The racing dragged on,And then darkness came.They both crept along—Their pace just the same. The too weary judgeSat with his eyes closed,He yawned and he yawned,And then he just dozed. Everyone wondersWho’s champ of the slow,But the plain truth is—There’s no way to know.…
