SOCK MONSTER

On laundry day, my mom complains,“A monster ate our socks!”I picture him with beady eyesand horns just like an ox. The dryer is his favored spot.He sits and stalks his prey.He’s learned if he conceals himself,he’ll have his sock buffet. Of course, he doesn’t grab them allbut targets matching pairs.He steals a single sock from each,which gives my mom gray hairs. This monster thinks he’s got us beat,but I will save the day.From now on when I get a pair,I’ll throw one sock away.…
