Outsmarting the Saturday Similes

IT SEEMED AS though Layla was stuck doing chores every single Saturday, unable to have any real fun. With her busy week, she just didn’t have time to clean. So Mom usually made Saturday “cleaning day.” “Your room is as disorganized as monkeys having a pillow fight!” said Mom, using the same messy room simile she’d always used. “No playing outside until this room is clean!” Layla stood in her room, taking in the sight of the enormous mess. “I’ll never get out of here,” she said.
