Be a Hair Hero!

Sometimes, kids lose their hair. Whether it’s due to cancer, burns, or a condition called alopecia areata, hair loss is tough. That’s why charities make wigs for kids. Instead of selling the wigs, many charities give them to kids for free. Did you know that it usually takes five to ten hair donations from different people to make one wig? That’s a lot of hair. (Not everybody has hair as long as Tía Raquel’s!) If you want to donate your hair, here are four things to remember: 1. Hair needs to be at least ten inches long. 2. Hair must be clean and completely dry. 3. Hair must be in a ponytail or braid. 4. Some places accept hair that’s been colored or permed. None accept bleached hair. Each charity…
