SAM INVENTED THIS catapult to launch peas into Miro’s soup. You can use it to send notes across the room—or even storm a castle.

What You’ll Need: What to Do: 1. Stack five craft sticks together. Wrap a rubber band tightly around each end (see A). 2. Stack two craft sticks together. Wrap a rubber band tightly, close to one end of the sticks (see B). 3. Slide the stack of five sticks between the stack of two sticks. Slide it as close as you can to the rubber-banded end (see C). 4. Wrap a rubber band in an X shape several times around the point where the craft sticks meet (see D). 5. Glue the cap to the end of the top stick. Let the glue dry. 6. When the glue dries, place a soft object, like a cotton ball, in the cap. Press down on the stick. Then release it, and watch…
