Some universities look at their scuba programs as perks. Others see them as unnecessary recreational burdens. And yet others embrace their scuba programs as important pieces of their curriculum and help them grow, realizing that scuba diving is a lot more than just another physical education credit. That said, it seems that in order for a university program to be successful, some special people have to make it happen. Wright State University’s scuba program has been one of the most successful over the years, and no doubt because it has had two very special people as the driving forces behind it.
