Ever since I was a child, I have been curious about the water and the animals that inhabit the depths. Snorkeling over bright coral reefs soon led to diving deep shipwrecks, and all the while I continued to learn through observation. After years of recreational diving, I decided that scuba was more than a hobby and pursued a career in marine science. As a marine ecologist, I am lucky enough to combine my passion for diving with my desire to understand the oceans. I am currently finishing the final semester of my master’s degree at the University of South Florida’s College of Marine Science, where I am studying the coral and algal communities of the eastern Gulf of Mexico.
