DALI Spektor 2

Distinguished by their unusual wood-fibre-flecked cones, the Spektor 2s disentangle even complex mixes with surprising musicality for their size and price.

Over the border in Denmark, where you can’t throw a block of Lego without hitting a loudspeaker manufacturer, the company known by its acronomic initialism of Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries offers these Spektor 2 standmounters, available in Australia for $599 (though as with a great many others, you may be able to find them at a little less than the RRPs we quote). Like Elac, DALI also started making speakers in the 1980s, and has since proved to have a penchant for high-value bookshelf speakers. There’s an even smaller Spektor 1 model available, but the larger cabinet volume of the Spektor 2 makes this the model where the series really takes off when it comes to music-making.
