When cast and crew gathered to toast Melody Thomas Scott for her 40-year milestone on the classic soap The Young and the Restless, the star gave a rare glimpse into her rocky early family life.
After the elegant actress thanked everyone for all the love she was getting on her special day, she took a moment to acknoweldge that this last year had its share of challenges.
“As some of you may know, but perhaps many of you may not, my mother didn’t raise me,” Melody revealed. “I didn’t have a relationship with my mother. I was raised in a hoarding household by my grandmother, who was a borderline personality. She was determined that I’d have a career in showbiz. I agreed with that sentiment!”
