Remembering Mylon LeFevre

Mylon Rae LeFevre was born October 6, 1944, and passed away September 8, 2023. He was an American Christian rock singer known for his work with his band Mylon LeFevre & Broken Heart. He is a Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee who traveled around the United States, ministering, teaching, and singing. Mylon was the son of Urias and Eva Mae LeFevre, who along with Urias’ brother, Alphus, were legendary in the Gospel music world as The LeFevre Trio. Beginning their career in 1921, brothers Urias and Alphus sang with their sisters until Urias and Eva Mae married in 1934. My introduction to Mylon was as a 14-year-old playing drums for J.D. Sumner & The Stamps in the summer of 1967. Mylon was the bass guitarist. He was the epitome of “cool.”…
