Be Thankful Always!

I look around these days at the popular culture and it’s easy to see how many people seem satisfied to live with pale imitations of what life can be like.

As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, here are some memories that we can look back on and be thankful for. I’m thankful for growing up in an era of big families, with lots of get-togethers with grandparents, aunts and uncles, and lots of cousins that I still enjoy keeping up with. I’m thankful that we rode around in the back of pick-up trucks (and survived), that we played all across the neighborhood up until suppertime and our parents didn’t have to worry. I’m thankful that on hot summer days we were content to get a drink of water out of the garden hose. I’m thankful that we had cartoons on Saturday morning with a big bowl of cereal.
