What's Happening With Jeanette Cooke

In 1962, the first Walmart store opened. The Flintstones debuted on television. John Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth. Spider-Man made his first comic book appearance. And Jeanette Cooke started singing Gospel music with her husband, Hubert. They called themselves The Cooke Duet. Three sons, a name change, and six decades later, Jeanette is still on the road, sharing her talent for the glory of God with her family, The Singing Cookes.
What's Happening With Jeanette Cooke
It’s been a great 60-year ride for this sweet and humble woman who has dedicated her life to Gospel music. Her musical journey technically began as a young girl. “I had a preaching daddy, and from the age of 11, he would travel around and preach and I’d sing,” Jeanette says. “Then when Hubert and I married, we sang together. At first, we just sang on weekends. He worked hard in the coal mines for 16 years before we decided to go into full-time traveling in 1965. We started a family, had our sons, and each of them joined the group at around age 11. We’ve been together all this time, continuing on even after Hubert’s passing in 2018, and hope we continue for a long time to come.” When Jeanette talks…
