1. You’ve spent most of your life surrounded by Gospel music. What is one of your earliest memories involving Gospel music? There’s never been a time in my life when I haven't been surrounded by Gospel music. Dad and Mom were singing a long time before I was even born. They had a weekly radio program that started in the 1960s in Boone, North Carolina, and it ran for 23 years. For many of those years, it was done “live,” so, as a small kid I can remember going with them to the radio station and sitting with my sisters in the next room over, peering through the glass and watching as they did the 30-minute program on WATA.
