Without Hands

We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.— Mark 14:58 The Lord Jesus, in His final moments, is standing alone before the Jewish high council. They mockingly ask Him if He is the Messiah who will save Israel from the oppressive hand of the Romans. They laugh at Him to scorn with their jeers as they recount a prophesy He had earlier declared, “I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another, made without hands.” Jesus wasn’t referring to the physical Temple that stood atop Mount Moriah, but rather, He was speaking of the Temple of His body.
