Drive For Show, Put For Dough!

Any golfer understands this simple slogan. There are lots of golfers who can hit the ball a mile, but they are weak on the short game, lacking the skills to get the ball onto the green and into the hole. Generally speaking, the golfers who are strong on their short game—able to finish the job, so to speak—are the ones walking away with the trophy … the dough! The Kingsmen were avid golfers during the time I was with them. Jim Hamill was better at it than most of us and he wouldn’t hesitate to remind us on just about every hole as he pulled his ball out of the hole.
