The world around us screams with noisy lights and garish distraction. And yet at some point, we will pass by a darkened church on a cold, damp night. Is there a time of the year that stirs our emotions more than the month of December? Is there a time of the year that more sweeps our memories to times and places of great joy, and to memories of the people we have loved? What are the decorations if they are not tributes to family traditions held dear since our childhoods?
