The McKameys

I have done my best over the last few years of writing this article to cover the pivotal moments and influential people who forever changed the course of this music’s history, and from all points of our music’s 113-year legacy. I must admit, however, that a large portion of my background has been found in my dad’s record collection of the classic quartets during the 1950s and 1960s. For reasons I cannot explain, one group that never landed on my radar during my formative years was The McKameys. I rarely attended their concerts; I didn’t frequently listen to their music.
