Faith Country: Donavan Wells

Affectionately known as “The Sauce King” by other musicians and in his hometown of Union, South Carolina, Donavan Wells can usually be found singing somewhere with a box of “The Whining Swine” barbeque sauce in his vehicle. From “Plain Jane” made for weaker stomachs to “Carolina Jerk” for braver souls, Donavan says, “They all have their own personalities.” When Donavan originally created his sauce, he made just five cases and took it to National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. By Tuesday night, he had completely sold out, with a demand for more. God let him know He was going to bless this product if Donavan continued making it—and he has.
