Tell us about your protagonist. It has several viewpoint characters. They include Temi, a commoner from the capital’s slums, whose family gets drawn into a feud with a crime syndicate, and Jinao, a noble from a warrior clan, who is sent on a quest to hunt down a legendary monster. How does magic work in this world? There are two magic systems. The first is exclusive to the warrior clans (or is it?!), and allows them to summon ancestral spirits to fight in battle. The second involves a secret language only monks are permitted to use, which powers ancient relics called “techwork”. Do you have to do much research?
