Faking DEI is like HATING It, Just Be Authentic: The sad legal case of Wells Fargo’s recruiting sham

PHILADELPHIA, PA —When you concoct fake interviews with African American applicants, knowing that you’ve already filled the jobs with white candidates, you have to possess a pretty foul conscience and an outstandingly bad ethical compass. Yet, this is what Wells Fargo recently did, and now this major financial institution is in major court legal action because of their fake DEI recruiting shenanigans. Inc. Magazine, a highly respected business publication, recently reported (July 30, 2024) that “A U.S. judge ordered Wells Fargo to face a lawsuit alleging it defrauded shareholders by proclaiming its commitment to hiring diversity, even as it conducted sham job interviews of non-white and female applicants it had no plans to hire.” This is disturbing on so many levels, but the arrogance to intentionally do this is sheer…
