Janey, the star of Zombie Tramp sets her vengeful sights and baseball bat on an old schoolmate who once raped her best friend, Trish, leading to her suicide. With his pregnant wife and preteen son as witnesses, she proceeds to strip, torture, rend, tear, dismember and even penetrate the helpless jock before turning her attention to the rest of the family. Despite the many disturbing aspects of the story, Dan Mendoza’s art makes it surprisingly palatable, playing up the twisted comedy elements that are a trademark of the book and character. The gore is also somewhat offset by a touching spiritual reunion between Janey and Trish, which also manages to shed a bit more background on Janey’s origins and her ongoing quest for eternal rest.
