THE COLOR OUT OF SPACE SPOKEN WORD H.P. Lovecraft/Andrew Leman/Chris Bozzone CADABRA RECORDS You’ve seen the movie, now get the record! Indeed, 2020 is all about H.P. Lovecraft’s less celebrated but nonetheless important sci-fi horror tale of cosmic terror and the insignificance of humankind. Spread across two LPs and pressed on clear vinyl with blue and red swirls, Lovecraft’s The Color Out of Space is given the necessary space (pun intended) to be read here by frequent Cadabra collaborator Andrew Leman. As is often the case with Cadabra’s projects, Chris Bozzone’s score plays a critical role in illustrating a world in which alien creatures defy description. Though the music is a tad too minimalist this time out – mostly drifting in the background unnoticed – it shifts directions as the plot develops. The album…
